Creativity Counseling: Body of Work

Body of Work is not specifically geared toward individuals who identify themselves as artists. Creativity counseling helps clients gain access to their gifts and live a life of greater spontaneity, resourcefulness, joy and giving.

This program combines an in-depth consultation with energetic healing, journaling/creative writing and feedback, and individually tailored approaches to identifying the client’s gifts and personal sense of purpose. The process is also geared toward removing obstacles that may be impeding self-expression and the client’s ability to live a gratifying and meaningful life.

The cornerstone of this 7-month program is the in-depth rEVOLUTION Questionnaire, which enables clients to look at their lives as energetic systems and gauge where they are losing energy. In some cases, taking simple, pragmatic steps to change daily habits creates the space in which to initiate new practices and discipline. In all cases, the questionnaire provides a foundation for dialogue as we approach the process of removing obstacles, enhancing creativity and stimulating the imagination.

Body of Work approaches the body as the instrument for personal expression and the receptacle of all the wisdom we need to make our lives richer and more fulfilling. Moving sequentially through the body’s energetic centers (chakras) and focusing on the themes related to each one, we work to release mental, emotional, physical, energetic and creative blocks, based on the conclusions drawn and the goals set as a result of our consultation.

The program is designed to be a 7-month module:

• Personalized healing sessions based on each body’s unique needs, working to dissolve the energetic blocks that are restricting physical, creative and emotional freedom and well-being.

• In some cases our sessions may include breathwork and/or meditation.

• Every month, participants submit writing and receive written feedback. In some cases, this is in order to further a specific creative project; it is also a means of deepening the dialogue about the issues we are exploring. Writing enables the client to experience the transformative power of continual, consistent commitment to the creative process of self-discovery.

Following is an extremely basic outline of some of the themes associated with each chakra:

•root chakra: foundation, home, security

•sacral chakra: sexuality, creativity

•solar plexus: will, self-definition, personal boundaries

•heart chakra: unification of “higher” self and “human” self; emotional connection, relationships

•throat chakra: self-expression, communication, personal power

•third eye: intuition, gnosis, telepathy, wisdom

•crown chakra: the individual’s connection to the universe
