Biography

Stacey Engels:

As an outgrowth of my lifelong quest to thrive as an artist and experience the sacredness and mystery of the creative process more deeply, I have dedicated myself in recent years to becoming an energy worker and to coaching other writers. Energetic healing has had a profound impact on my own physical and emotional well being, as well as my creative (and professional) life. I am excited and honored to be able to share this work with individuals who want to overcome the obstacles that impede their full self-expression, in order to live deeply and joyfully, and to be able to communicate their own wisdom, experience and passion for life to others.

I received my MFA in Playwriting from The New School in 1997, and now write in a variety of genres; I blog about writing, yoga, the creative process and life in the body at untiedstatesofam.blogspot.com and art and culture at www.artandculture.com. My plays have been produced and presented as staged readings in Canada, the US and Italy. The grateful recipient of numerous grants and fellowships from, among others, the Canada Council, NYFA and TCG-ITI, I am also a certified yoga instructor, a Rising Star and Reiki II practitioner, hold a certificate in basic shamanism from the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, and studied energetic healing at the Transformational Arts College in Toronto. My fascination with the power and magic of the creative process has been guiding me more deeply into the relationship between art and healing and the growing field of Arts in Healthcare.
